Ignorance is Bliss

May 2009- It was one of those Portland days and we found the perfect activity. We decided to all, as a family, walk in the March of dimes walk-a-thon. We didn't know how far it was going to be until we got there. It was just over 6 miles going over bridges, along the river, and through down town. Those who put it together really knew how to throw a walk-a-thon, there was a pit stop every mile with a snack, drink, and a giveaway (which Josh LOVED). There were also a few marching bands to keep everyone motivated.

It was such a beautiful day.

I think the key to the happiness on the walk-a-thon was not to tell the kids how long we were walking. After we were done and we told them they were so proud of them selves, as they should be!

Wow! Very ambitious of you! Don't think I could make it 6 miles, let alone my kids- they're whining after 10 minutes of walking around the zoo!

That is really cool! I am impressed. 6 miles is a lot of walking. I'm glad you decided to lug your camera along. I bet your kids will always remember that!
